It’s Thursday morning and the long weekend is so close you can almost taste it.

THIS WEEK’S NEW RESTAURANT OPENINGS 🍽️

Here’s the food news that’s got me drooling, thirsty, or texting the group chat 💬

• Dave’s Hot Chicken just opened in Calgary in East Hills, and has plans to open 2 more locations. One in Beacon Hill and another on Macleod Trail according to an article by Dished. This place has a lot of hype, but I’m not convinced.. is it that different??

• Mille is a newly opened Italian place. While I’m not sure about the whole “we serve breakfast, but also are a late night place for drinks” concept. I feel like it’s hard to pull off being good with both the morning crowd and the evening crowd. Plus, their hours are 11am to 9pm. That’s mostly skipping breakfast hours AND the late night crowd. That said, the inside looks stunning. We’ll see if this one stands the test of time.

• Royal Heritage Indian Lounge & Grill opened in June. (I missed this on my regular search for restaurant openings so just catching up here). They have a weekday lunch buffet for only $20 and a weekend lunch buffet for $24.

• Ryuko just opened their 3rd location - Ryuko Beltline. I’m a fan of Ryuku sushi so I’m pumped for location even closer to me.

• Hello BanhMi did their soft opening in early July and now they are officially open. Expect cheap Vietnamese subs and bubble tea.

New Foods Coming soon…! 🔥

• Francine’s will be opening this Fall. This is french inspired food made by really good chefs. They were previously a pop-up and will be opening their own permanent home in Chinatown.

• Tiki Cabana Club looks set to open VERY soon. This is a brightly lit tropical themed dance club across from Jameson’s on 17th Ave.

• Monki Bistro is opening a new location in Seton! You won’t have to wait long as they are planning to open in August.

• Monogram recently closed Primary Colours (which was a restaurant concept attached to their Monogram Britannia location). They’ll continue using the space though as they’ll be expanding that Monogram location to be an even LARGER Monogram. Which makes a lot of sense to me as that location is super busy every time I go.
