🗝️SUNDAY SNEAK PEEK - Apr 5, 2026

Your key to Calgary's headliners and hot gossip

Hi friends,

Happy Easter weekend! 🐇 I was supposed to be out of town this weekend visiting family but plans changed which meant I got to stick around and use my new found time to try some new places! 🎉

On Friday I went to Buffalo 9 Brewing and Vaacay Brewing - both were great! Buffalo 9 has a military theme and my favorite beer was their Mango Passionfruit Wheat Ale. Vacay Brewing took over the space that was previously The Mash in Marda Loop, the place is small but they fully decorated every inch and the make-over really paid off! I had a flight of 4 beers and they were all top-notch. I’ll have to return to try their food. I’d recommend both these breweries if you’re looking for somewhere for your next pint! 🍻

3 EVENTS TO LOOK FORWARD TO! 🤩

Save the date and tell your friends!

  1. Vertigo Theatre is amazingly entering their 50th anniversary season! WOW! They have a special line up of classic murder mystery plays for 2026/27 to celebrate this mega milestone. Season tickets are on sale now (individual show tickets go on sale later).

  2. We don’t have line-ups yet, but both RoundUp Fest and Oxford Stomp posted save the dates for their 2026 Stampede concerts. Whoo hoo! And extra exciting, for the first time RoundUp Fest will be doing 2 days of concerts. They must have something big planned indeed.

  3. Okay maybe it does feel like spring after all because Glow Calgary Garden Centre announced their season opening date. It’ll be May 2. Save the date for some beautiful plants, flowers, trees, shrubs and vegetables! 🌷

What the group chat is talking about this week. 💬

  • 🔥 Big news from the folks in charge of Comery Block/Hayden Block/South Block, they’re adding another restaurant to the block family. About a year and a half ago they opened Blue Rock Swim Club under South Block and it’s a great upscale speakeasy type place. I’m assuming due to it’s success they are repeating that idea in a bigger venue. Enter the empty building in Kensington that was previously Freehouse. It’s a big space and an older building, but it seems it’s in the process of a mega make-over to become “Stable Palms Club.” Allegedly they’ll open in May (I say allegedly as most restaurants experience opening delays), but fingers crossed we’ll get to see this new hot spot for ourselves soon!

  • 🍨 If you’ve ever wanted “healthy” ice cream, now you can get protein-rich ice cream from local company Foothills Creamery. Expect 30 grams of protein per pint and 50% less sugar.

  • 🚴 Calgary Bike Swap is doing an event May 2. I’m not sure exactly how this event works, but I believe people donate bikes and then people can buy them. (And somehow bikes also go to people in need.)

  • 🍦 Marda Loop is really popping off lately with a slew of new openings. Enter Tat’s Treats! A cute soft serve ice cream shop with flavours infused with your favorite nostalgic cereals.

💰 SOCIABLES SAVINGS 💰

I’m always on the look out for new deals, discount codes, and happy hours to share! Lemme know if you know of any I can add to the list.

  • 50% OFF @ SKIP THE DEPOT: If you’re like me and you hate going to the bottle depot, stop! Do skip the depot instead. Get 50% off your first pick up when you use my link. (Trust me, you’ll never go back).

  • 50% OFF WINERY FEE @ WINE WAREHOUSE: For all new customers.

  • 50% OFF SUBSCRIPTION @ INSPIRED GO SALADS: I’ve been ordering these salads every 2 weeks for about 3 years now. Can’t beat the fantastic taste and convenience. Use my link for 50% off your first try.

  • BOGO @ BOOGIES BURGERS: I don’t know what miracle caused this but Boogies Burgers is now offering buy 1 get 1 burgers weekly on Tuesdays. This is a crazy good deal and you may see me there every Tuesday now.

  • $30 SPENDING MONEY @ RAKUTEN: This site gives you the best coupon codes when shopping online. I’ve been using it since 2015. It’s free! Get $30 when you sign up with my link.

  • $50 FREE CASH @ CIBC: I find CIBC to be the least annoying of the major Canadian banks. Use my link if you’re looking for somewhere new to bank with a bonus $50 bucks to start you off.
