Looking for things to do in Calgary this week? Here’s a curated list of the best events, festivals, live music, and activities happening June 29-July 5, 2026. Whether you’re looking for free events or something new to try, there’s something here for everyone.

MONDAY

• 🤠 CUSTOM HAT BAR: Workshop includes hat and embellishments ($85+)

TUESDAY

• 🛍️ MARKET AT STEPHEN AVE: Check out this day time market on bustling Stephen Avenue from 11am-6pm (Free)

• 🌇 SUNSET CRUISE: This is cool. Someone has taken over the ol’ timey steamboat at Heritage Park for a fancy party with an all-white dress code ($160)

WEDNESDAY

• 🏇 NORTH AMERICAN: Spruce Meadows is up to something every weekend I swear. (Entry $5.40).

THURSDAY

• 👀 SNEAK PEEK: Yep, it’s here. The first “unofficial” day of the Stampede is Thursday with the midway opening up at 5pm. Entry to the grounds is only $15 instead of the usual $28.

• 😈 BADLANDS MUSIC FESTIVAL: From July 2-12 see concerts (mostly EDM) at this Stampede Tent downtown (prices vary)

• 🤠 COWBOYS MUSIC FESTIVAL: From July 2-12 see concerts (some country, some throwbacks, some EDM type stuff) at Cowboys Park. (prices vary)

FRIDAY

• 🇲🇽 MEXIFEST: I’ve only ever heard amazing things about MexiFest but have never been myself as it inevitably collides with what I’m doing for Stampede. Don’t be like me though! You should try to fit it in your schedule! ($20 entry)

• 🎤 JIMMY EAT WORLD: Adults only concert at Spruce Meadows. ($112)

• ⚾ OKOTOKS DAWGS VS GIANTS: Escape the ‘pede with a good ol’ fashioned baseball game. These are seriously fun ($15+)

SATURDAY

• 🐶 COWBOYS N’ CORGIS: A Stampede themed event at Century Downs! Horse racing at 12:45 and corgi racing at 4pm. All ages. (Free!)

• 🎵 ESCAPE THE STAMPEDE: Avoid everything cowboy with this music focused event at Dickens ($5+)

• 🎉 BASTID’S BBQ: I’ve heard good things about this annual stampede party at Whiskey Rose, I have yet to make it myself. (I won’t this year either so you’ll have to party on my behalf.)

• 🎤 A$AP ROCKY CONCERT: There are still tickets left for the Don’t be Dumb World Tour ($153)

SUNDAY

• 🍽️ ALAN JACKSON EXPERIENCE: Dinner and a tribute show at Ranchman’s ($32+)

• 🥂 Farmer Fizz tickets are now available from Market Wines. This popular event in November always sells out so if you want to go don’t wait to buy!

• 🦁 You can now get a drink from a lion hand at this new local cafe. Not sure why this is a thing, but hey, why not?

• 🩰 Tickets to Calgary’s favourite ballet The Nutcracker are now on sale. Yes, it’s June, but if you want the BEST seats in December, better get them now.

• 🥒 Calgary’s first PickleFest is arriving in August. Organized by some people out of Toronto, they’ve recruited Big Rock Brewery as the location. All ages. Tickets are $27

• 🚢 Calgary’s most famous boat is back. The S.S. Moyie is back at Heritage Park for another year. I believe something happened to the boat last summer and they had to cancel some events. They do daily rides (floats?) on the Glenmore Reservoir and occasional sunset dinner events.

• 🍕 Gas prices up, pizza prices down. Pizza 73 will be lowering the price of its XXL one topping pizza every Monday as local gas prices go up. (I guess that means if gas prices go down, pizza prices go up?!) In any case, its an excuse to order cheap pizza.

• 🌊 River Hall is back! And not just for September. For the last 2 years an area down by River has been transformed into River Hall, with live music, dancing, food vendors and fun activities all with no entry fee. It was a magical place but for only a few weekends in September. Now they’ve expanded to be open July 23- Sept 27.
