Hi friends,

This week we filmed the start of a new series (well hopefully it turns into a series, we’ll see). Baden did this before in New Orleans so he suggested we try it in Calgary. It’s called High / Low. The night starts off at one of Calgary’s high end cocktail bars and then ends at a dive bar. We compare drinks at the two and it’ll get us trying new places. I also want to show differences between the bathrooms at both places LOL. Stay tuned for our first video soon!

I’m also happy to announce I’m launching YYC Venues! You know how it’s super annoying when you want to do the simple task of booking a private room for a birthday or a venue for a christmas party and restaurants make this information as difficult as possible to find ANYWHERE. Monday

Tuesday

  • ⛱️ THE BEACH BOYS: See them at Winsport! I believe this contains 2 of the original band members, so it’s not a cover band like I first thought when I saw this event. Cool! I would see this show.

  • 🗼 802 CHALLENGE: Climb the steps of the Calgary tower! This is your last chance! (Well until next year that is.)

Wednesday

  • 🤘 SUM 41: The next exhibit opens up at the National Music Centre on Wednesday. You’ll have until Feb 2026 to see it.

Thursday

  • 💃 INTERNATIONAL SALSA CONGRESS: This dance competition is on March 27-30th at the Hyatt Regency Ballroom. See the best salsa and bachata dancers in the world!

  • 🎷 MUSIC BINGO: I had a lot of fun at the one I went to at Skunkworks Distillery and honestly I’m pondering going again. The cocktails were really spectacular and well priced too. I think downtown has me brainwashed where I think $20 for a cocktail is normal. (wtf, its really not) At Skunkworks it’s like $12. Its nice to be surprised by how low your bill is after a night out drinking lol that never happens

  • 🍽️ SUPPER CLUB: I can’t say I’ve ever heard of supper club, but apparently this is their 6th dinner. This one is at The Garrett, features a 5 course menu and is $200 per person. It looks like it includes wine pairings as well.

Friday

  • 🚗 WORLD OF WHEELS: It’s the 57th Annual World of Wheels on down at the BMO Centre. Check it out Friday-Sunday

  • 🎵 THE MUSIC OF ABBA WITH RAJATON: Tickets are waitlisted for this event on both Friday and Saturday night with the Calgary Philharmonic

  • 🍷 SPANISH FESTIVAL: Spanish wines that is! Join this walk-around style festival at Willow Park for only $40 and you get some passed bites too.

Saturday

  • 🏇 OPENING DAY AT CENTURY DOWNS: Horse racing is back for the season! I went to Century Downs last year for a bachelor party and we had a LOT of fun! Great place to go for special occasions or just to check out something different for an afternoon. If I remember correctly bets start at $2 and if you want to triple down it’s like $6 so you don’t have to go crazy with it. You can really just dip your toe in for beginners like me!

  • ⛰️ OUTDOOR ADVENTURE & TRAVEL SHOW: On Sat & Sun at the BMO Centre! Find outdoorsy fun things to do or get some inspo on where you wanna travel next. Over 200 exhibitors.

  • 🎤 54.40: Catch their concert at the Deerfoot Inn & Casino Saturday night

  • 🤠 KANE BROWN: The Saddledome will have headliner Kane Brown with special guests Scotty McCreery and Dasha. I checked ticketmaster and still a decent amount of tickets left, so some good choices for seating.

  • 🍶 SATURDAYS ARE FOR SAKE: Event at Market Wines with lots of sakes to taste test. I have been drinking a lot more sake since I went to Japan a few years ago and if you get the good ones they’ll really blow your mind.

Sunday

  • 👰 THE BLISS BRIDAL SHOW: The newly engaged won’t wanna miss the spring bridal show at the Carriage House Hotel & Conference Centre.

  • 🌷 THE SPRING MARKET: Free entry and free parking at this market at the Deerfoot Inn & Casino. 90+ vendors

HEAD’S UP!

I’ve never been to a Locked Library event even tho I’ve always wanted to!! But I every time there seems to be a schedule conflict 😩 so I’m giving you an early heads up on this one!! You can even get early bird tickets until Friday. Basically it’s an escape room style event but in the most majestic of architecture the Central Public Library. It’s best played as a group event with 2-4 players on your team (ages 12+).
